The Prospect Trust Public Speaking Competition - July 2025

On 7 July 2025, The Prospect Trust proudly hosted its very first Public Speaking Competition as part of our school outreach programme - and what a fantastic and inspiring day it was!

We welcomed teams from four of our partner schools: Ash Manor School, Frogmore Community College, Kings International School and Tomlinscote School. Each school entered teams from Key Stage 3 and 4, giving students a brilliant chance to boost their confidence, sharpen their critical thinking, and dive into some thought-provoking topics, such as electronic messaging, assisted dying, national service, body image and AI.

A panel of three judges had the tough job of selecting standout performances, with awards going to exceptional individual speakers and the top teams from each Key Stage.

As part of the day, our Sixth Form students treated everyone to a lively show debate.

Well done and thank you to all the schools who took part in this thoroughly enjoyable day.

Double Recognition for Careers Excellence: Trust Celebrates Prestigious Awards for Tomlinscote School and The Sixth Form College Farnborough

We are proud to announce that two of our academies—Tomlinscote School and The Sixth Form College Farnborough—have each been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard, the national quality award for careers education, information, advice, and guidance.

Receiving this accolade within just days of each other is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the Trust's unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding careers education and supporting student progression at every stage.

The Quality in Careers Standard is awarded to schools and colleges that demonstrate the highest standards of practice in preparing young people for their futures in further education, training, and the workplace. The rigorous assessment process recognises institutions that embed careers learning into the curriculum, offer meaningful employer encounters, and provide personalised support to help every student make informed choices.

Both Tomlinscote School and The Sixth Form College Farnborough impressed assessors with their strategic approach to careers provision, the breadth of opportunities offered to students, and their dedicated support teams who go above and beyond to help young people achieve their goals.

This dual recognition underlines our Trust’s belief that high-quality careers education is central to student success. By empowering learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to shape their own futures, we are building a stronger, more ambitious generation ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Congratulations to the leadership teams, staff, and students at both academies on this fantastic achievement!

"We are incredibly proud of both Tomlinscote and The Sixth Form College Farnborough for achieving the Quality in Careers Standard Award. This award highlights the exceptional dedication and hard work of our teams to ensure that careers education is truly embedded throughout the student journey. Careers is the golden thread running through everything we do, and these awards reflect our commitment to equipping every young person with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed beyond school."  Nikki Coleman, Head of CEIAG

Student Leadership Conference - April 2025

On Wednesday 2nd April we held our first Trust-wide Student Leadership Conference. In total 44 student leaders attended from across all three Trust schools. The guest speaker was anti-bullying campaigner Alex Holmes OBE, who gave an inspiring talk about the leadership roles he has had since being a secondary school student himself and the potential that young people have to make a significant contribution to society. Senior student leaders from the College and Tomlinscote also gave very interesting presentations about their role, achievements and lessons learned.
